In celebration of his recently announced co-ownership with denim brand G-Star RAW, ‘Head of Imagination’ Pharrell Williams invited a select group of guests to visit the ‘RAW Factory’ at G-Star’s Amsterdam HQ, giving them an all access peek inside the brand at the forefront of the denim industry.

Williams opened the doors to his new denim home at G-Star HQ leading guests through a variety of spaces including the brand’s vast archive of vintage workwear and military garments, in-house atelier, and denim lab. Guests were fully immersed in G-Star’s progress – rather than heritage – driven world of denim, showing them creations from the fabric, as they have never seen before.

The event follows the announcement of Pharrell becoming co-owner of G-Star, following two years of collaboration between G-Star and Pharrell William’s company Bionic Yarn on RAW for the Oceans, a collection made using the first denim from recycled ocean plastic.

Pharrell Williams: “I’ve been working with G-Star for several years now. Through our RAW for the Oceans project with Bionic Yarn, I saw their commitment to creating denim that has a positive impact on our planet. Together we experienced the feeling that there is so much yet to be done with that fabric. It is latent with potential, and that is why we took our relationship to the next level – I want to be a part of that journey. I believe in the future of G-Star.”

Guests of the RAW Factory were a mix of Pharrell’s friends, press and friends of the brand, including A$AP Rocky, Miguel and Lion Babe.

Australia’s cutest baby and Bond Baby Search winner has been announced and they did not disappoint.

At just 14 months old, Brooklyn Makamaka from NSW has taken the title of Australia’ Cutest Baby. The bubbly toddler was announced the Wonderbub Winner from a pool of 58,000 on 23 March. His mother Alyssa Armstrong explained why she wanted him to be a part of the Bonds Baby Search; "I absolutely love Bonds and for parents, the Bonds Baby Search is a fun way to show their baby's personality. Of course, being his mum I'm a bit biased and think he's beautiful."

While his mother does say he is a 'little poser' and loves the camera, Ms Armstrong says that the challenge when taking Brooklyn's photo is to get the toddler to sit still, "He's at that age now where he just wants to run around and play," she said.

Brooklyn will star in an ad campaign comprising billboards, TV ads and print, as well as a professional photo shoot and $600 product pack.

Bonds also provided some interesting facts to know about the 2016 Bonds Baby Search:

    • 2016 was one Bonds biggest to date, with nearly 60,000 entries and over 800,000 votes
    • The top 5 female names were Ava, Charlotte, Mia and Olivia, Ruby
    • The top 5 male names were Oliver, Noah, Jack, Mason and Cooper.
    • The highest number of entrants were born in October, closely followed by September

The day kicked off with some sun salutations during a glorious morning yoga class on the sand, guided by ROXY yoga guru Crystal O’Rourke. The yoga session was followed by a 5KM fun run along the scenic track from Rainbow Bay Beach and looping around at Kirra, concluding with a 1KM stand-up paddle (SUP) race at Jack Evans Boat Harbour.
